The retired Nigeria international says the Super Eagles’ “brothers and long term allies” are in a pole position to lift the Afcon trophy on Sunday.
Former Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo has said Ghana are favourites to win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations ongoing in Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars beat hosts Equatorial Guinea in the semi-final to land in the final against Ivory Coast who beat Algeria to progress.
Yobo, who confessed he is not following the ongoing Afcon, feels Avram Grant’s charges have shown enough resilience to annex the trophy for the fifth time.
“I don’t watch the Africa Cup of Nations, with the Super Eagles not being in the tournament, my interest is not there,” the former Everton and Fenerbahce defender was quoted in the Daily Post.
“I tip Ghana to win the tournament. As our brothers and long term allies, I would like them to win the tournament. Above all, I think they have a good team.”
