Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah has been ruled out of tonight’s International friendly with Mali. Ghanasportsonline.com can confirm.
The 25-year-old picked up an injury in the team’s 2-1 loss to Senegal last Saturday hence has been ruled out in today’s game against the Eagles at the Stade Sébastien Charléty.
Mensah limped off in the first half after twisting his ankle in an attempt to clear a ball from the danger zone.
The Evian defender had to make way for youngster Daniel Amartey in the 34th minute.
The tough-tackling defender missed out in the Black Stars final training session on Monday having failed to recover on time.
The situation will thus see Avram Grant pairing Daniel Amartey and John Boye in the central defense.
Kick-off for today’s game is at exactly 6:30 pm local time.
