Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has finally landed in Greece to finalize his deal with Superleague side Panathinaikos.
Essien arrived in Athens on Monday night and received a warm reception from fans of the Greek side.
The 32-year-old is expected to complete a €1.2million move to Club should both parties reach an agreement.
“Just touched down in Athens and the love from the Panathenikos fans was incredible.” Essien tweeted.
The Ghanaian international was deemed substandard by Italian giants AC Milan after making just 13 appearances for the Club this season.
The former Chelsea star could however be signing a two-year deal with the former Greek Champions on Tuesday.
