Argentina coach, Humberto Grondona, has suggested that his side underestimated Ghana in their second group B match of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Ghana won the game 3-2 with goals from Benjamin Tetteh, Clifford Aboagye and Yaw Yeboah in the 44th, 59th and 69th minute respectively.
Argentina‘s goals came off the boots of Giovanni Simeone in the 80th minute and Emiliano Buendia in the 90th minute to give the match a tense finish.
At the post-match conference, Humberto said Argentina will have to win their last group game to qualify.
He said: “We don’t like to lose, nor are we used to it, but we’re still alive and we still have a chance in this tournament. Now we have to focus on the positives.
“It was good to see that we didn’t give up and managed to close the gap to 3-2 after going 3-0 down. I must admit that Ghana really surprised us, and now we’ve got to win the next match.
“The good thing is that we now know we’re in good physical condition and can keep playing at a high tempo even at the end of a game.”
