FIFA president Joseph Blatter says he will appeal his eight-year football ban imposed by the ethics committee of football's governing body.
Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini were Monday banned from football with immediate effect by the ethics committee of football's scandal-hit world governing body.
Blatter told a news conference he would take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
"I will fight, for me, for FIFA. Banned eight years, for what?" Blatter said.
Blatter also expressed surprise he was not informed by the adjudicatory committee before they released their statement.
"Why are the media informed before me?" he said.
