The former Ghana defender believes the deputy Black Stars captain is a crucial element in the Jacks’ quest to avoid demotion.
The founder and general secretary of Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, Anthony Baffoe, has reiterated the importance of Ghana winger Andre Ayew to Swansea’s survival in the English Premier League.
The Welsh outfit have endured a torrid time this season, having won six, drawn nine and lost 11 of 26 games so far and currently languishing on 16th position on the league standings.
“I do not think Swansea can play without Andre, given the position in which they find themselves,” Baffoe told CitiFM.
“They will need all their key players and he is certainly one of them.
“He is not tired like some people say. I think that in every league season, there are phases – phases where you will do well and others when you will struggle.”
Alongside Gylfi Sigurdsson, Ayew has been arguably Swansea’s top performer this season, leading the pack as the club’s highest scorer with eight goals following a summer transfer from French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.
His exploits have seen him adjudged the Jacks’ Best Player for the Months of August, October and November.
He was also named the Premier League Player for August as well as Best African Player in the Premier League same month.
