Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has emerged as the leading candidate for the Asante Kotoko job.
Appiah, who now manages Sudanese top-flight side Al Khartoum SC, has five months left on his contract.
He has been lined up to lead his former club for next season in the Ghana Premier League.
"We’re patiently waiting for Kwasi Appiah. We’ve learned that his contract with Al Khartoum will end on September this year, so we’re hoping for him to take up the Kotoko job after," a Kotoko insider told Footballmadeinghana.com
"Right now, I can say is Kwasi Appiah that we’re all waiting for should all what we have agreed upon within our outfit concerning his appointment is honored."
Assistant coach Michael Osei is currently handling Asante Kotoko on a short-term basis after head coach David Duncan was asked to step aside.
