The Newly built Cape Coast Stadium will officially be commissioned on Tuesday May 3, Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpujye has confirmed.
The edifice which was built by a Chinese construction firm IPPR International is yet to taste sporting activities since its completion months ago.
The multi-purpose stadium which has been equipped with some modern sports facilities also has a volleyball, tennis and basket ball courts to accommodate other sporting disciplines.
Sports Minister Hon Nii Lantey Vanderpujye in an interview with Accra-based Happy FM confirmed the arena will be commissioned in the next one week.
“The Cape-Coast Stadium will officially be commissioned on May 3. You know it was completed some months ago,” he said.
“So it will officially be commissioned to allow sporting activities to take place.
This will be in addition to the already four national stadia thus Accra, Kumasi, Sekondi and Tamale.
