Former Black Stars defender, Emmanuel Armah “Senegal”, has started the campaign to get suspended Black Stars player, Sulley Ali Muntari, back into the national team.
Muntari was indefinitely suspended from the Black Stars for the “unprovoked physical attack” on Black Stars Management Committee member, Moses Armah ‘Parker’, at a meeting over their unpaid bonuses, during the global football gathering in Brazil in 2014.
Armah made this statement ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, after Ghana were handed a very tough draw against the likes of Egypt, Uganda and Mali.
He said: “Ghana is in a very difficult group and, I hope a player like Muntari will be recalled into the national team to aid the country break this 34-year trophyless jinx, considering his experience in tournaments such as this.
“Two or more experienced players can also be recalled because it helps boost the confidence of these young ones,” he told Accra-based radio station, Peace Fm.
The midfielder was last seen in action at the Vodafone Unity Match which was held in Accra, where he exchanged pleasantries with current Ghana coach, Avram Grant, after the charity match.

ghanaians really love to see these guys back
Muntari should come back. We lack that accurate and measured passes to Gyan for goals.Somebody like Jordan is not a Black star material.
is the young ones playing actively in their clubs?, Players like Muntari are the best choice Ghana has as at the moment. the coach should invite him if he wants to be successful
Muntari shd be called back into the squad......We really need him
This Armah is very stuuppppiiiiiiiid for saying this. He is broke and Think that ***barred word*** will come and harvest some cedis. We don't need the both of you and your families.
Please we do not need them, period. lets move on! They are not even playing actively with their clubs. They should not and stage another coup in camp, we have had enough of them. Without the so-called experience players, we want to an AFCON with inexperienced under 20 graduates led by Dede and we were 2nd to Almighty Egypt at the time. if experience then we better invite Armah 'Senegal'hinselve, together with Polo, Abedi, Tony Yeboah as well. Pls lets have some peace with the so-called experienced non-dedicated and non-committed players. Their time has passed, and we should just accept that and move on. None of our opponents are thinking adding old players to their squard - they are using 'fresh blood'
That's true if really really really he has been forgiven then Grant should consider bringing him back, likewise Prince Boateng and I still suggest that Kwarssey should be the number one for Ghana.
