The Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has revealed that he would do everything in his power as a minister to ensure the team qualifies for the World Cup in Russia.
The Minister has been in an unending feud with the Ghana Football Association which has visibly taken a toll on the players of the Black Stars.
But he denies he is on a mission to ensure the team fails in their quest to qualify for the World Cup in Russia.
“No one can question my love for the team. I love the team just like any Ghanaian. Secondly, I’m a minister and it will be great to have it on my CV that under my reign Ghana sealed a fourth consecutive world cup slot,” the Minister said on Nhyira FM.
“My duty is to scrutinize whatever budget we are presented with. I am accountable to institutions so I must seek explanation from the FA when deemed fit. The fact that other Ministers paid certain monies doesn’t mean I have to do that.”
