The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has dissolved the board of Kumasi Asante Kotoko with less than a month to the start of the 2016/2017 Premier League season.
The date for the naming of a new board and management team to run the club is yet to be made public.
A statement signed and issued by the Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, Mr Kofi Badu, expressed satisfaction at the work of the board upon receipt of its final report and interim accounts for the 2015/2016 Premier League season.
The three season mandate of the board ended last September, three months after that of the managing director, Samuel Opoku Nti.
Otumfuo who is also the life patron of the club, expressed appreciation to the chairman of the board, Mr Adu Gyamfi, and his team and urged them to remain loyal and cooperate with their successors 'to raise the club to the new heights.
Meanwhile, to facilitate a speedy transition to the new administration, Opoku Nti has been directed of hand over the club's administration to the accountant.
