The football association official says Kwesi Appiah should have stayed away from the Black Stars job since he had his time in the past.
Ghana Football Association executive committee member, Wilfred Kwaku Osei, claims Kwesi Appiah was wrong to have applied again for the Black Stars job, following the departure of Avram Grant.
Appiah was in charge of the national team between 2012 and 2014 and despite guiding Ghana to their third consecutive Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil, he was sacked after the tournament.
Osei, who doubles as the Black Stars management committee vice chairman, says Appiah's dream of staging a comeback is out of order.
“Kwesi Appiah is a very fortunate person. He had the opportunity to captain the Black Stars in the past," Osei told Happy FM.
"He also became the assistant coach and was later given the responsibility to head the Black Stars technical team and his former boss left. And that was the biggest opportunity for him to serve this country so if I were him, I would've stayed out of the Black Stars coaching job now.
“I would not have applied to become the coach again in the first place because it is out of order on my part. This is because he has done his best and should be satisfied with that,” he added.
There have been calls from several high-ranking Ghanaians, backing Appiah to be named as Grant's successor but Osei insists Ghana FA will not fall for such campaign.
''When he was appointed for the first time, it was under such similar calls for his appointment. Unfortunately, we all realized that he was not up to the task and that led to mutual termination of the contract when the initial two-year expired.
''In any case, why would Kwesi Appiah himself be interested in returning to a job he left because he did not agree with the Ghana FA top hierarchy over certain demands?''
Goal understands that the six-member committee setup to select the new coach will announce the successful candidate by end of March.

Kwasi Appiah is the most luckiest formal black stars player and ***barred word*** formal black stars coach. He was blessed to have experienced players with technical brain to help him to become successful, but he listened to the ashanti region media and kwasi nyatakyie voodoo influence to mess our national team. A coach his players asked him which formation or strategy to face the opponent he didn't know. Only nepotism Administration like npp will give him a assistance job .
THIS OSEI MAN WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM. APPIAH IS BETTER THAN HIS SO CALLED FOREING COACHES HE IS INTERESTED IN.HE HAS HIS OWN HIDDEN AIM
This man certainly hates Appiah. it is clear.
Appiah did very well as a coach for the Black Stars? Did Avram Grant perform better than Akwasi Appiah? Nope!Look at our position in the current world cup qualification? Who cause am? Is it not Avram Grant? Look at our abysmal performance at the just eneded AFCON? Who cause am? Avram Grant. Now, Akwasi was able to qualify us to the world cup in Brazil smoothly. He won very important matches. Then in the world cup, Ghana Germany match was adjudged the best match in the whole tournament....who was the coach? Akwasi Appiah. Our early elimination from the world cup in Brazil had nothing to do with a coach. If Ghana refused to pay players and players are angry, what can a coach do? The players were not even willing to train. There was nothing Akwasi Appiah could have done in the world cup when Ghana had failed on countless times in fulfilling the promise to pay players. So our early exit? FA or Ghana should be blamed and not the coach. I think Akwasi should be given the chance to prove himself because Grant only came to Gh to 'chop' our money....he didn't improve our football for us. Infact, our national team is worse now than the team he came to meet.
Ghanaians are confused and do not know what is good for them. We are tired with these GFA officials. If you think a white coach is the best person for the job, just it to him. When Avram Grant was appointed as the Black Star coach, we all saw his performance. Avram Grant was not better than Kwesi Appiah as a coach. And so, the GFA should go ahead and give the Black Star's coaching job to another white man. Nobody cares. After all, Ghanaians have completely lost interest in the Black Stars and nobody cares about what happens to the national team.
Wow! excuse me oo what wrong with this man. its good you said on your part. You are not him or perhaps you know something that the rest of us don't know. Perhaps he would have done excellently well if some of us stopped breathing hot air down his shoulders. He knows he's done certain things wrong and want the opportunity to do it differently. Re-applying doesn't make him loose his credibility, so stop the jabs and allow the process to flow. Any guess you guy have decided already abi. stoke the fire.
