Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has taken the earth-shattering decision to drop brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew for next months's World Cup qualifier against Uganda, Nhyira FM has reported.
The bold move comes in the wake of the decision of the West Ham and Swansea City players to pull out of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Congo which the Black Stars won 5-1 in Brazzaville this month.
The controversial decision to leave out the two brothers will likely spark the heated arguments over the long-standing rift between coach Appiah and the father of the England-based duo Abedi Pele.
Loyalists of the Ayews will argue that it is the extension of the 1992 rift between their father and coach Appiah, claiming the Black Stars boss is victimizing Abedi Pele's children.
They will also claim that the two brothers have genuine injury and concerns which led them excusing themselves from the game in Congo.
But supporters of Appiah will counter the explosive arguments with claims the two players are indisciplined and sought to sabotage the coach simultaneously by excluding themselves from the Congo match.
Andre pulled the plugs on his involvement in the qualifier against Congo claiming he was injured while a sick-bed photo emerged on social media which ruled his younger brother out of the match.
However, the Swansea City forward recovered in time to feature for his side against Newcastle United after a few days.
The audacious action from the Black Stars manager will certainly divide opinions in the West African country and could cloud the country's crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Cranes in Kampala next month.
Ghana will need to win and hope Egypt slip at home against Congo to stand any mathematical chance of qualifying to the global showpiece in Russia.

There is no rift anywhere existing between the two legend.the main reason is that the two boys taught drawing with Congo at home means it was all over for the world cup.so they taught it not necessary to and play in the away game.the best thing now is to forgive them.let's go and play the two matches, hoping to qualify and then invite them back for the tournament Itself.
WHY DO LIKE READING MEANING INTO EVERYTHING. I GUESS ITS BECAUSE THOSE PEOPE ARE DUBIOUS THEMSELVES
IT IS STUPIDITYYY AND LACK OF COMMON SENSEEEE FOR ANY ONE TO ARGUE THAT IF THE AYEWS AREY BROTHERS ARE DROPPED FROM UGANDA MATCH THAT DECISION WOULD BE DETERMINED BY A FEUD EXISTING BETWEEN THE COACH, AKWASI APPIAH AND THE AYEW FAMILY. IF THE AYEWS REALLY DECIDED NOT TO PLAY FOR GHANA IN THE RETURNED MATCH WITH CONGO, AFTER THEIR DRAW WITH GHANA AT KUMASI, THEN IT WILL BE UNPRINCIPLED AND INCONSISTENT FOR THE AYEWS THEMSELVES TO WISH TO PLAY IN THE SUBSEQUENT QUALIFYING MATCHES. IT WILL ALSO BE A GROSS SHOW OF WEAKNESS OF THE MANAGEMENTS OF BLACK STARS TO INCLUDE THEM IN THE SUBSEQUENT QUALIFYING MATCHES. SUCH A WEAKNESS IF NURTURED IN THE TEAM WOULD BREAKDOWN DISCIPLINE IN THE TEAM TO CAUSE A HUMILIATING DEFEAT. A TEAM CONSIST OF ELEVEN PLAYERS AND NOT TWO. ANY PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT TO SOME OF THE PLAYERS DAMPS DOWN THE SPIRIT OF THE TEAM. THE BLACK STAR DID WELL IN GONGO BECAUSE THEY HAVE A COLLECTED SPIRIT TO DRIVE THE TEAM TO A RESOUNDING VICTORY. WE NEED THE SAME SPIRIT FOR THE TEAM IN THE REST OF THEIR MATCHES. IF THE TWO PLAYERS WHO REFUSED TO PLAY FOR GHANA AT THAT CRITICAL TIME ARE BROUGHT TO THE TEAM NOW IT WILL BE A DISASTER. KEEP THE UNITY OF THE TEAM AND IT MAY SURPRISE YOU OF WHAT THE YOUNGMEN CAN DO.
This is pure disgraceful to our coach. If only he realized they were not playing well he could have substituted them. Captain Asamoah admitted for the past four to five years, he his been battling with his fitness and he always tried to use experience. He is still our captain and given first hand selection before any other player. Let's not focus our attention on those two boys alone.
best decision. these two guys deliberately sabotaged the coach in kumasi when we played Congo. if you doubt me get the video and watch it. they realized the coach saw it after the game and was not going to use them in Congo hence sickness excuses...and eventual refusal to travel with the team to Congo.
THE WRITER OF THIS ARTICLE IS SUCH STOUPID THAT HE IS NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE IN JOURNALISM. HE SHOULD BOWL HIS CONSCIENCE IN SHAAAME!!!
Brave move. Dealing with I won't play if you don't let my brother play should have happened long time ago
I do not think that there should be any problem if a coach decides to select players other than the Ayew brothers. There are more than one hundred eligible players in Ghana so the coach can decide to select players he consider fit to do so. If his selection is based on player conditioning and consistency in performance then I dont think he can leave out Jordan. However player selection goes beyond these criteria.
Unfortunately this reporter failed to give an information to the public, but rather fuel a non-existent feud. Couldn't you have just given us the list of players invited, and allowed we the fans to subject it to our opinions? The chaps refused to travel to Congo for the away match for reasons best known to the technical handlers. If the technical team refuse to call them this time, let us wait for the reasons during press conferences. Don't jump the gun.
masa masa masa, those kind boys are sick to bones, they cant even move their legs oooooo. Who said we need them anymore ? they are scoring goals for their clubs out there and they should go ahead.
