Ex-Black Starlets Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has refuted allegations of bribery as the reason why he was booted out of the juvenile side in last Monday’s reshuffle of some national team coaches.

Coach Fabin one of the victims of the reshuffle, came under a barrage of criticism after Ghana’s botched U-17 World Cup campaign in India last October with managers of some players claiming their wards were side-stepped because they could not afford the financial demands of the coach.

But in an interview with the Graphic Sports last Tuesday, the 59-year-old coach described the allegations as baseless without any merit and wants it discarded immediately.

While rubbishing those claims, the coach challenged his accusers to provide evidence or shut up because he has never taken a bribe.

“It is total rubbish for someone to suggest that I took money from anybody, if they have any evidence they should come out with it. You just don’t say things anyhow, who took money from who…?

“I took a team of 21 players to Africa and out of that number 17 went to the World Cup, only four new players were added to the team so it sounds very funny,” the coach fumed.

According to him, he lasted six years on the job grooming young players which attest the confidence the management reposed in him and believed he would have long been showed the exit if he was demanding money from players.

“I have been with the team for six year and if I was doing that do you think I would have lasted for that long".

Fabin has been replaced by Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito as the head coach of Ghana's U-17 male national team, the Black Starlets.

He guided the side to win Silver at the 2017 U-17 AFCON and also got to the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the same year.

Until Zito's recent appointment, he was the head coach of Ghana's U-23 side, The Black Meteors.
