Mr Elvis Adjei-Baah head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), has said his outfit is not aware of any decision by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), to strip Ghana of hosting 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations Championship.
Ghana is scheduled to host the the women championship slated from 17th November to 1st December, 2018.
Mr. Adjei-Baah said they have not received any formal communication from CAF, hence preparations for the competition would remain on course.
“It is not true, neither am I aware of such information. The ministry has not been informed of any action yet," he noted.
According to Mr Adjei-Baah, the ministry is engaging the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to find possible ways in solving the problem facing Ghana football, as FIFA has agreed to meet our team, led by Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister for Youth and Sports in Accra on Friday 22nd June, 2018.
“FIFA is coming down to meet governments delegation. Government would tell FIFA the current situation in our football circles and seek for available solutions.
