Asante Kotoko SC held Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks FC to a scoreless stalemate at the Kasarani stadium on Saturday in the CAF Confederation Cup.
With the Kenyans wanting an advantage in the first leg before they travel to Ghana for the second leg next week, they were slightly ahead of the Porcupine Warriors in the game.
The Sharks came close to opening the scoring on two occasions in the first half but failed to connect the opportunities.
Asante Kotoko were nearly beaten in the latter stages of the first half but centre back Agyeman Badu made a clearance on the goal line to deny the Kenyans.
The Fabulous lads come very close with a header from Guinean import Naby Keita going just wide the goalposts.
Emmanuel Gyamfi with a shot from the edge of the box could have broken the deadlock but his effort missed the goal posts by a whisker.
Asante Kotoko SC will host Kariobangi Sharks at the Babayara stadium next Saturday for the second leg of the tie.
