Ex-Asante Kotoko player Mallam Yahaya says Kwesi Appiah’s success at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations will open up opportunities for other local coaches in the country if he is able to win the trophy
According to him, Kwesi Appiah is now the face of local coaches in the country and his success will give much credence to local coaches
"Let's all Ghanaians rally behind Coach Akwasi Appiah to win the AFCON 2019 because it would be good and create opportunities for we the Ghanaian Coaches to get the National teams to manage in future, he told Ash FM
"Akwasi Appiah is a very good Coach and I know with the help of his technical team and the support from Ghanaians, Afcon 2019 will be ours, he added.
Kwesi Appiah is the only local coach in the history of Ghana football to qualify the Black Stars to the FIFA World Cup in 2014.
Kwesi Appiah has qualified Ghana to this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
