Yaw Yeboah, a member of the national under-23 team, the Black Meteors is confident, the team will beat their counterparts from Gabon in the first leg of the qualifiers, against Gabon at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
This he said will enhance their chances of qualifying for the final phase of the process in Egypt.
In an interview with the media after their training session on Wednesday, Yeboah said, the team was focused for the match adding that, though they were under no pressure to deliver, they were sure of victory.
“We are ready. We are confident of winning. We just have to go onto the field, play, win and celebrate with the fans, we are very sure of victory,” he added.
He said, the coach was giving them the needed guidance, which would push them to secure a comfortable victory for Ghana.
According to Yeboah, the Olympic Games was the dream of every sportsman or woman and they cannot let the chance or opportunity slip.
He said, Ghana has not won any major trophy in football in many years, and it was time to qualify to Japan 2020 and make an attempt at a medal.
He was awarded "most valuable player" in the 2015 African U-20 Championship scoring two goals.
