A woman was arraigned in court for the charges of assault after slashing her husband’s hand and nose with a machete on New Year’s Eve in Kenya.
The court heard that on 31st December last year at Sipili Trading Center, Esther Nyokabi was at her home in the evening and her husband Daniel Githura arrived late after a drinking spree. Nyokabi who was waiting for him started an argument.
Prosecutor Charles Mugambi said that Nyokabi and her husband were fighting over misuse of money that was set aside to buy clothes and good food for Christmas and New Year.
Her infuriated husband however tried beating her and in her defense she took a machete and slashed his nose and mouth. He was later rushed to Laikipia District Hospital where he was treated.
Resident magistrate Peter Muholi adjourned the court and ordered that Nyokabi be held at Nayahururu Women’s Prison till the next hearing to give the prosecutor time to further investigate the case and produce the weapon used during the incident.
Bride Delivers Bouncing Baby At Wedding
A wedding ceremony at a church in P.C.E.A. Sultan Hamud, Machakos (Kenya) was abruptly disrupted after the bride collapsed and delivered a baby boy moments after saying ‘I DO’, amazingly her groom had no knowledge of her pregnancy.
Apparently the woman knew of her situation and managed to conceal her pregnancy from her family, friends and fiancé during her courtship. She had consulted a doctor days before the wedding and the doctor had confirmed that she will deliver after the wedding.
As fate would have it, the woman walked down the aisle with a tight wedding dress revealing her beautiful physique, no one in the ceremony suspected that the woman was expectant.
The woman exchanged her vows with her Maasai husband and just after exchanging rings she fell down and lost consciousness. Relatives rushed her to Del Amore medical center where medics confirmed that she was expectant and collapsed due to extended labor pains.
Shock engulfed all those present as her husband protested against the information… “Ati ako na mimba sasa hii ni ujinga gani…..” (She is pregnant what kind of nonsense is this)
Amid confusion, the woman delivered a bouncing baby boy and her husband courageously returned to the wedding reception where he appeared with the bride’s sister acting on her behalf.
