Former Communications Director for the NPP in the 2008 General Elections, Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy, has denied ever lobbying for the running-mate slot of the party and also says he never wrote in his book; "Chasing The Elephant Into The Bush, The Politics Of Complacency" that Dr. Bawumia brought nothing to the table.
