As I did my early morning walk on Thursday, 22 February 2024, the Joy FM Super-Morning Show team discussed the topic of nurses leaving Ghana in droves for greener pasture overseas. That was no news as in 2023, it was estimated close to ten thousand nurses left Ghana. What was news to me was that, so far in 2024, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is losing nurses at a rate of two-hundred a month!
