Akufo Addo Begins Hope Tour

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will today Wednesday, March 14, 2012, begin another phase of his nationwide interpersonal campaign. Dubbed the Tour to Restore Hope, this next phase of the campaign will see him talking more about his plans for the nation if elected President. His overarching vision is to create a society of opportunities and aspirations, which seek not to leave any Ghanaian behind in the nations grand push for development and prosperity, a statement issued in Accra and sighed by Herbert Krapa, his Press Secretary, said. The Tour to Restore Hope follows his successful Listening Tour, which took him to majority of the constituencies in all ten regions. This tour is expected to be equally engaging, with Nana sharing his plans with the people and taking the views of ordinary Ghanaians about these plans as well. Starting from the coastal areas of the Central Region, the NPP leader is expected to engage in a more intense, community-based interaction with the fishing community and articulate his vision and programme for making the fishing industry a vibrant and productive one capable of providing good living conditions for the fisher folk. Campaign manager Boakye Agyarko explained that the tour is to provide Nana Addo the opportunity to assure the Ghanaian people that all hope is not lost and God willing when the NPP is returned to power, Ghana will move forward again. The NPP flagbearer is campaigning on the core themes of restoring hope to Ghanaians by providing free and universal access to secondary and technical education for all, prioritising quality teaching and the needs of the teacher, addressing the skill needs and jobs for the youth of Ghana, expanding access to healthcare, empowering Ghanaian businesses, rebuilding the nations infrastructure, fighting corruption, tackling the housing issues of urban Ghana, and transforming the structure of the Ghanaian economy through value addition to agriculture, industrialisation and greater access to cheaper credit and technology for small and medium scale enterprises in Ghana. Nana Addo will tour the Gomoa East, Awutu Senya, KEEA, Abura-Asebu-Kwanmankese, Mfantseman East and Mfantseman West constituencies whilst in the Central Region.
