NDC MP Aspirant Registers 1,500 For NHIS

The NDC parliamentary aspirant for the Okaikoi North constituency, Mr. Andrew Okaikoi, has paid more than GHc2, 000 for 1500 residents in his constituency to be registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme. Mr. Okaikoi said the exercise was part of a programme lined up for the people this year and the future. He said the exercise would help create awareness on the importance of the scheme and an opportunity to assist the poor, aged and vulnerable. Mr. Okaikoi has also assisted 500 women in the constituency to attain loans for their work. Speaking to this reporter in Accra, Mr. Okaikoi cautioned the people to be careful about their lifestyle, desist from activities that would endanger their health and be concerned about issues that related to the constituency. The NDC aspirant also called for unity in the party in the constituency, stressing that, without unity, we can never win the seat to compliment the efforts of President Mills who will retain the presidency. As a member of our great party, it has become incumbent upon me to lead the UNITY crusade in the Okaikoi constituency in particular, and our party in general, to ensure that President Mills wins the Presidency, comes December, 2012 and also I win back the Okaikoi North seat for the party Though he acknowledged how herculean the task is, especially when the current MP is from the opposition side, he said, with the work we have done in the constituency and what the central government is doing, I strongly believe we will win the seat in Okaikoi North. Mr. Okaikoi also called on all party members and other party faithful to consider the upcoming biometric registration exercise as the begging of the winning strategy for him and the party. Its important that our people come out massively to register. The more they register we can be assured of victory. This exercise is important to our fortunes, he noted.
