Marcel Desailly Tipped As Next Black Stars Coach

Following the dismissal of the Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic a decision which will be made public within the next 24 hours the Ghana Football Association is already out shopping for his replacement. GFA sources told citifmonline.com that the search for Stevanovics successor began last week in order not to create a void ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifying games. We are looking for his replacement and we dont have time, a GFA source revealed. Although FA officials are tight-lipped over the possible names that they are considering, media reports are rife that 1998 World Cup winner Marcel Desailly is in the front line for the job. The Kwesi Nyantakyi-led administration is expected to officially make public their decision to sack Plavi today or Tuesday pending the outcome of an ongoing crucial meeting with his lawyers over his compensation. citifmonline.com first broke the news of the Serbians dismissal on February 23, 2012 when the GFA had earlier told the media they need a two-week grace period to study Stevanovics report on the Nations Cup in order to decide his fate.
