Hearts Fans Want Live Telecast Of Kotokos Showdown

Hearts of Oak fans want their Premier League showdown against rivals Asante Kotoko telecast live on television. The supporters umbrella body ( National Chapters Committee), have sent a petition to the Ghana Federation asking them to quickly resolved the impasse between Metro television and Asante Kotoko for the game to be beamed live to million across the continent. Premier League broadcasters, Metro TV has been restrained from covering Kotoko games following alleged attacks on commentators and equipments by irate fans during their Premier League win over champions Berekum Chelsea on December 14, 2011. Delays in settling the dispute at the Disciplinary Committee level is threatening the live telecast of the games with many Hearts supporters fuming with rage over the incident claiming the excessive live broadcast of their matches has affected turn-out at match venues. We have petitioned the FA and asked them to speed in settling whatever dispute Kotoko and Metro TV has and to ensure Sundays game is shown live, NCC Chairman Alhaji Akanbi told Ghanasoccernet.com The issue happened as far back as December 14 and its shocking how long it has taken for us to get to this stage. The Baba Yara stadium is a 40,000 capacity seater and therefore millions will be denied the chance to watch their idol clubs perform and so its only fair and proper that the game is shown to everybody to see. Can you imagine if the stadium is overcrowded and the ramifications on all of us. This is the biggest game of the season and it must be telecast at all cost. We wont take anything otherwise, Hearts are in desperate need to pick maximum points to close the gap on Kotoko.
