Police CID Frees NPP Guru

Peacefmonline.com can confirm that a deputy Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, is no more in the custody of the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and is walking a free man. Mr. Asamoah was arrested together with a number of party faithfuls at gun-point near the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel by the police at about 9pm on Monday, following chaos at various security installations in the capital, including the Police Headquarters, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and the Bureau of National Investigations He had gone to the Regional Offices of the BNI where NPP firebrand, Kennedy Agyapong was being kept to offer him moral support. It is widely-suspected that the NPPs Communication Team member might have been detained for inflaming passion against the security agents.
