GCNet Engages Stakeholders In Takoradi

Ghana Community Network Services Ltd (GCNet), has engaged stakeholders of customs clearing in Takoradi and Elubo as part of its quarterly stakeholder engagements. The GCNet officials took the stakeholders through recent happenings in its operations, provided updates on features and functionalities of an upgraded Bill of Entry processing platform to be launched during the year. The participants were also sensitised to the introduction of a requirement to attach trade documents electronically during the application for permits and exemptions from Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs), starting with the Minerals Commission. This process will be beneficial to both importers and declarants, as it will save time and costs during the pre-clearance process, thereby enhancing trade facilitation. Messrs Festus Mensah and Nathaniel Quayson used the platform to clarify some customs procedures to stakeholders. The team will be in Paga, Kulungugu and Aflao in the coming weeks.
