Milan remain mathematically in the race for the Scudetto as a late Kevin-Prince Boateng goal saw Milan beat Genoa 1-0 at the San Siro. Alessandro Nesta saved Milan�s blushes early in the game as he did well to throw his body in front of a Juraj Kucka shot allowing for Christian Abbiati to pluck the ball, seven minutes in. However replays showed it touched Nesta�s hands too, could have been a penalty. Sixteen minutes in Kucka struck a long ambitious effort but it went well high and wide into the Curva Sud, before that Antonio Nocerino layed on a cross to Zlatan Ibramhimovic in the 23rd minute but it was closed down by Guiseppe Sculli. Just before the half hour mark Ignazio Abate was booked for a high boot on Davide Biondini, while Stephan El Shaarawy did well to round the defender while Andreas Granqvist blocked the ball off the line. Nine minutes from the break Mario Yepes did well to push out a Kucka ball for a corner, as neither side looked particularly eager to break the deadlock. The restart brought about no changes in the line-ups as Nesta once again kept Genoa at bay as he raced Rodrigo Palacio down towards the box. It almost seemed as if the defender was beaten but Nesta stuck out his foot and tipped it off, allowing Abbiati to make the save four minutes in. Massimilano Allegri was at desperate measures and threw on both Antonio Cassano and Kevin-Prince Boateng for El Shaarawy and Mark van Bommel a minute later. On the hour mark Luca Antonini placed in a sublime cross off the byline to Boateng, the Ghanaian leaped for a horizontal bicycle-kick but Biondini did well to throw his body in front and block it. That effort finally started to create an atmosphere in the San Siro as both teams upped their pace in the game. Boateng was clear on goal and slotted the ball into the back of the net on the 67th minute, but he was blown for offside, while Genoa was reduced to 10 men after Bosko Jankovic received a second yellow for a foul on Abate in the 72nd minute. Fifteen minutes from time Cassano looked to get his name on the score sheet with a long range effort which went over the crossbar. Maxi Lopez replaced Luca Antonini 79 minutes in to add more firepower upfront and the change worked as they broke the deadlock six minutes later. Boateng picked the ball up on the right side of the goal, made a run into the box and slotted it past Sebastian Frey who was left standing, causing a huge eruption cheers by the fans. That goal sealed the win for AC Milan.
