Ghana FA To Announce Kwesi Appiahs Backroom Staff Next Week

The Ghana FA will reveal the identity of the assistant Black Stars coach by next week. The job became vacant when Akwasi Appiah made the step up to become the substantive coach of the side last month. It is widely reported that Appiah has put forward the name of Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu as his preferred choice to assist him in taking the Black Stars forward. But the ex Ghana strikers existing contract with the Ghanaian giants is proving hard to go by especially with the clubs resolve to hold onto their man. Behind the scenes negotiations are thus said to be ongoing and Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi says all deliberations will end by next week for the appointment to be confirmed. There are a number of people we are considering for the post and yes Maxwell Konadu is one of them, he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM. We are still at the deliberative stage but we are looking to make the announcement by next week. This means Akwasi Appiah will have just about a month to hit a harmonious chord with his number two needed to delver victory for Ghana when the Black Stars take on Lesotho and Zambia in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June.
