Ghana Fa To Support Chelseas African Campaign With Cash
The Ghana FA will be making financial contributions to aid Berekum Chelsea in their maiden Caf Champions League campaign.
The Berekum-based club hosts Cameroons Cotton Sport in the first leg of the ultimate qualifier to the group stage on Sunday haven expertly accounted for Raja Casablanca in the previous round.
And as Ghanas sole representative, many believe all support especially from the GFA should be given to Chelsea in order to redeem Ghanas slots in African club competition with their progress.
This support according to Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi is given last seasons Premier League champions and would be soon taken one step further by offering financial aid.
The GFA has been supporting Chelsea in diverse ways, some ways I cannot reveal to the public, he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.
I was personally in Berekum when they played Raja Casablanca and I believe it served some sort of motivation.
I will be there again this weekend for the Cotton Sport game to offer support but the GFA will soon be making financial contributions towards their campaign in Africa.
This financial support I believe will be made in time before their second leg game.
Chelsea are looking to be the first Ghanaian side to make the group stage of the Champions League since Hearts of Oaks barren run in 2006.
