Provocation Cost Aduana Attacks AshGold CEO Fianoo

CEO of AshantiGold Kudjo Fianoo has condemned the attacks on the Aduana Stars team but says it was in reaction of constant provocation from the away side. Players and officials of the Dormaa-based club were subjected to severe beatings by irate fans after securing a hard fought 1-1 draw at the Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday. And Fianoo says as unfortunate as the post-match incident was, the Aduana team had themselves to blame for the way they conducted themselves throughout the game. I believe the events that followed the game yesterday were very unfortunate and I wouldnt condone any act of violence, he told GHANAsoccernet.com. However the Aduana team must share part of the responsibility of what happened for the manner in which they conducted themselves during the game. Their officials on the bench were constantly protesting to the fourth official and the match commissioner at every juncture and I dont think that was right. By the time I realized a member of their (Aduana) technical bench slapped a supporter, how that supporter managed to get there I dont know and I will never agree to that. That action and also radio reports by officials of the team immediately after the game inflamed the tension and that accounted for the attacks. Fianoo adds Aduana officials rejected attempts made to help their safe passage from the Len Clay Stadium. I had personally arranged for the team to be taken in our team bus in the event theirs were damaged but the Operations Manager (George Gyawu) insultingly told me off. So its completely false that we instigated the attacks, the Aduana team are fully to blame for the unfortunate incident.
