Group: Jinapor Must Apologise To Volta Chiefs

A group called the Generational Youth Movement is demanding an immediate apology from the Vice Presidents spokesperson for allegedly claiming that the Chiefs in the Volta region faked their smiles when they met the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party Nana Akufo-Addo last week. Edem Tamakloe, spokesperson for the group in an interview with XYZ News said John Jinapor impugned the integrity of the chiefs by making that allegation. We are not interested in their politics; all we are saying is that whether the Volta region Chiefs faked their smiles or not it is not up to him to speak on behalf of the Volta Chiefs. He is not a custodian of the Volta regiondoes he know the implications of what he [John Jinapor] has said He asked. The group also wants the Editor of the Herald Newspaper to apologise to the chiefs of the region for allegedly publishing that Nana Addo bribed them before they gave him audience. Edem Tamakloe says Larry Dogbes alleged publication was insulting to the chiefs. This is more or less an insult to the Volta regional House of Chiefs that Nana Addo bribed them with GHC 10,000. This is an insult of the highest level and I think our Chiefs must sooner or later summon that gentleman to come and explain. Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Volta regional House of Chiefs Nana Soglo has admitted that Nana Addo gave the chiefs some money but denies it was meant to bribe them.
