Ambolley Cries For Sharp Sharp Music By Contemporary Artists

Ace highlife musician, Gyedu Blay Ambolley has bemoaned the lackadaisical attitudes most musicians attach to their work, which he says lead them to churning out half-baked songs. The simingwa do musician told Xfms Abena Asiedua Tenkorang, just like preparing soup, music has to have the right ingredients so that anybody who tastes it will feel it and come back again. Thats what our brothers in the Hiplife genres are not doing. They are doing sharp sharp music; and its dangerous He however added, people are not stupid; they work for their monies and if they are taking some part of their money to buy what you have taken out there, they think about it. Gyedu Blay Ambolley had had collaborations with some contemporary musicians, but says many of the artists he has worked with are only in a hurry to finish the songs and release them onto the market. In that light, he says, many of the songs do not come out like he had envisaged. It is okay working with them but I see that they are always rushing because when we go to the studio they always want to finish the music right there in the studio. You cant do that. When Im working with them, I give them some guidelines as to how to go about it and leave. After that, they re-make the songs to suit their style because they think my style is old. This notwithstanding, Ambolley cited Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour, Trigmatic and a few others who are professional and wouldnt mind collaborating with them in the future. He therefore advised musicians to take time because before you take anything to the public, you will have to make sure that it is well done.
