THOUSANDS of jubilant Chelsea fans lined the streets yesterday to salute the new champions of Europe. They cheered, waved flags and blew horns as the Blues celebrated their Champions League triumph with an open-top bus parade. Some supporters even scaled rooftops, lamp-posts, traffic lights and bus shelters for a better view of their heroes and the cherished trophy. The bus weaved through streets near their Stamford Bridge ground. The fans were delirious after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in the German side�s own stadium on Saturday. Striker Didier Drogba netted the winning spot kick as the London side won a nail-biting penalty shootout 4-3 after the final had ended 1-1. Abramovich joined his squad on the bus � sporting big blue glasses. And The Sun can reveal he has demanded the players win FOUR Champions League trophies to keep him happy. Frank Lampard, who captained the side in the absence of suspended John Terry, told fans yesterday: �Chelsea are the best club in the world.� Manager Roberto Di Matteo told fans: �We�ve waited a long time for this, so celebrate tonight. It�s a fantastic day for Chelsea Football Club. Champions of Europe.� Fan Alan Brown, 52, of Hemel Hempstead, Herts, echoed the thoughts of all the supporters when he said: �It�s happy days. It�s just amazing.� The players had partied in Munich till 7am before flying home � celebrating in and around their hotel�s rooftop pool. Several players even had to be woken up at the poolside to board their flight home, staff said. A hotel source said: �Some of the players ended up in the pool � either jumping in or getting pushed � and everyone was in high spirits. �A few didn�t bother going to bed and slept on loungers - it was a crazy night.�
