The latest National Democratic Congress (NDC) property propaganda against the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which put the party�s flagbearer on the spotlight, has suffered a major setback.
George Watson and Co, one of Ghana�s most respectable property and estate managers, have denied allegations by the ruling NDC�s turncoat propagandist that a house at Osu, which is being used as a private office by Nana Akufo-Addo is owned by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Their solicitor posited �this has nothing to do with Nana Akufo Addo.�
The timely explanation regarding the private office being rented by Nana Akufo-Addo and now the subject of slanderous utterances by a certain Sam George of the NDC Communications group has punctured the integrity of the allegation.
The rented office at Osu, according to the loud-mouthed NDC communications team member, belonged to the state and served as Guest House of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Sam George sought to create the mendacious and politically damaging impression that Nana Akufo Addo had used his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs to appropriate the property, an allegation which has been debunked.
According to the solicitor�s for George Watson, the property as a Ministry of Foreign Affairs guest house was occupied by the late Air Commodore Beausoliel on lease from George Watson And Co until its confiscation by the PNDC under PNDCL 325 as a property belonging to the general.
The late Air Commodore Charles Beausoliel (Rtd) was Chief of Air Staff between 1972 to 1976.
According to the revealing correspondence from Lawyer Kwame Boafo Akuffo, �I was instructed by George Watson and Co. to recover same. A petition was placed before the de-confiscation committee headed by Betty Mould then chief state attorney. She ordered the release of the property to Watson and Co.�
This, according to him, has nothing to do with Akufo-Addo.
Following the Supreme Court ruling regarding NPP National Chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, NDC has unleashed on the media a string of propaganda aimed at attacking the integrity of property purchases by leading party personalities.
In their overdrive mode last week, Nana Akufo-Addo came on their firing line but with this rebuttal from the respected estate managers, Sam George, the source of the propaganda has exposed his insincerity.
George Sam, who saw in this propaganda an opportunity to further endear himself to the political establishment, has fallen flat on his face.
In his university days, he presented himself as a member of TESCON and upon graduation wormed himself to the then ruling NPP administration where he lobbied for favourable posting for National Service.
He was posted to the Castle and specifically worked with former Vice President Aliu Mahama where he was part of his campaign team.
He is politically versatile and upon the exit of the NPP he quickly changed his colours and joined the gravy train of the NDC.
