No Utility Tariff Increases For 3rd Quarter

Utility tariffs will remain the same for the next three months. That is according to the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC). The Commission said the poor quality of services by utility service providers triggered no increment in tariff from June 1 to August 3. The Commission in a statement on Wednesday said the recent system collapses coupled with frequent outages in the power system and the poor management of the load shedding programme being undertaken by service providers are ample evidence that the ECG and Ghana Water are not delivering. Public Relations and Consumer Relations Manager at PURC, Nana Yaa Jantuah, told XYZ BUSINESS though the Automatic Adjustment Formula calls for an increment in tariffs, it is unfair for consumers to pay more for poor services.
