Kofi Adams: Im Shocked To Hear Asiedu Nketia Say Y.B Gyans Tape Is Doctored

Suspended Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, says he was shocked to the marrow to hear Johnson Asiedu Nketia, NDC General Secretary, claim that the secretly recorded tape in which the National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan, is heard planning to infiltrate the security services... ...with loyalists of the ruling party who will later be given National Security identification cards to enable them move freely and cause trouble in some parts of the country during the national elections has been doctored by the opposition New Patriotic Party. Mr Adams wants the partys leadership to be fair in dealing with the issue and hand out the appropriate sanctions. The NDC National Organiser has been implicated in a secret tape recording promising party footsoldiers soft loans and National Security identification cards to enable them do a yet to-be-instructed job during the December polls. Yaw Boateng Gyan, who is also a Presidential Staffer, has admitted the voice on the tape is his. But General Mosquito says in Yaw Boateng Gyans case, the tape has been doctored and accuses the NPP of being behind it simply to justify their all-die-be-die rallying cry. It would be recalled that a similar leaked tape of a phone conversation between Kofi Adams, Spokesperson of the Rawlingses and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, where the former is alleged to have vowed to scuttle then President Mills bid for re-election, generated heated debate in the media a couple of months back. In spite of his repeated explanation that portions of the tape have been doctored, Kofi Adams was asked by the party to step aside to enable the Disciplinary Committee investigate the matter. Now the NDC is caught in a similar situation and Mr. Adams maintains that the partys integrity is reliant on the decision it takes on the matter.
