NDC Gurus In Health Walk

THE ASHANTI Regional NDC on Sunday morning organized a health walk aimed at keeping its members fit and ready for the strenuous work awaiting the party in the December polls. Party top guns like deputy Information Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa, National Youth Organizer, Ludwig Hlodze, Municipal Chief Executive of Ejisu/Juaben, Yamoah Ponkoh, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, NDC Ashanti Regional Secretary, Joseph Yammin, Brogya Genfi, Yaw Obimpeh, Francis Dodovi and James Agyenim Boateng took part in the walk. Hundreds of NDC supporters from all corners of the city defied a heavy downpour in the morning to take part in the historical walk that started at the post office at Adum through to Kejetia and other principal streets before ending at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Members of the ruling NDC, clad in the partys red, black, green and white colours were seen singing and dancing in the rain throughout the walk which lasted about two hours. In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Mr. Yammin said the party was poised to make serious inroads during the December general elections in the Ashanti region which was the stronghold of the NPP. He said the NDC had consequently decided to keep its members fit and ready for the difficult task with the health walk, adding that the move was also to prove to people in the city that the NDC was stronger than ever in Kumasi and for that matter the Ashanti region. Yammin noted that the party supporters decision to defy the heavy rain just to take part in the hurriedly arranged walk was ample proof that the NDC was now the peoples choice in the Ashanti region. He said more of such health walks would be organized in the region in the coming days before the general elections, stressing the NDC would not its stop campaign activities until President Mahama had won a first round victory.
