PPP Is Not Kingmaker, But The King Dr. Nduom

Flagbearer of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, is serving notice to the two biggest political parties in Ghana the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party that winning the December election is not their automatic reserve. Dr. Nduom stated the two parties with the largest following in Ghana should brace up for a keen contest in December, because the PPP has metamorphosed into a force that is ready to wrestle power from the ruling NDC. Speaking at a forum to outline his policies on Tuesday, Dr. Nduom debunked assertions that the PPP is positioning itself to be kingmakers. He said the PPP, which originated from the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) will struggle for every vote in the December elections. We wont play second fiddle to anybody, Dr. Nduom stated categorically. He said the PPP unlike other political parties, will deliver on its promises because Ghanaians want food to eat, they want safe roads and good jobs. The former MP said: Well not abuse the name of the Lord with vain prophesies. Well not deceive Ghanaians. Were here to let you know that if the PPP wins, every single Ghanaian will be a winner. No political party will bring true progress unless with the people. Dr. Nduom said the education, health, agriculture among several other sectors will be overhauled and reviewed to place Ghana as a high level middle income country. He said the PPP has estimated about GhC 5.5 billion over a period of five years for the education sector aimed at providing free education to all children and not a few to gain access to Senior High School. PPP will create a just and discipline society so that within 10 years this country will become a higher level middle income country. Ghana needs courage and ambitious leaders and not naysayers. We can make this happen and when we do, Ghana can achieve lasting and sustainable development, he pointed out. He said a PPP government will protect the public purse and by so doing will reduce the number of Ministers of State to 40 and will rely on professional and local government servants to ensure administrative service. On women, Dr. Nduom said the party has set aside a minimum of 20 parliamentary seats for our women.
