Maxwell Konadu: I Dont Know My Fate After Satellites Qualification Match

Former Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has said that he does not know where his fate lies with the Satellites after the Africa Youth Champioship qualification matches. I still dont see myself as the substantive coach for the Satellites, he stated. Speaking in an interview with Peace Power Sports, the former All Stars coach said he was contracted by the Football Association to ensure that the Black Satellites qualify for the 2013 African Youth tournament in Algeria after the resignation of Orlando Wellington. After the team qualifies, the GFA will decide as to whether I continue or not, he added. According to Konadu, he is very sure of the Satellites qualification as he has the boys to do the job. He told Peace Power Sports that Ghana has the materials in terms of player quality, but what mattered most was the preparation toward matches. Ghanaian players are very smart and intelligent, he concluded. After every tournament in these generational teams the performance goes up and down so as a coach you always have to pray and hope you build a better team for subsequent tournaments. The Black Satellites will leave for Morocco on Wednesday for the return encounter of the 2013 Africa Youth Championship decider in Rabat scheduled for this Friday. The Ghana U-20 side hold a 4-1 advantage over the young Atlas from the first leg played at the Tamale Stadium a fortnight ago. Ghana U-20 coach Maxwell Konadu says his team still has a tall mountain to climb despite their 4-1 win against Morocco in their African Youth Championship qualifier.
