Exactly a week after actress Nana Ama McBrown lost her father, there are reports that diminutive actor Joe Shortingo has lost his mother. Madam Kate Aikins died at Apam a few weeks ago while receiving treatment at a hospital. She was battling an undisclosed ailment, which lead to her death. The actor, who is currently mourning his late mum, confirmed the death to NEWS-ONE yesterday. �It is true. Sorry I didn�t inform you about it,� he said in a solemn voice. The late Kate Aikins will be buried this weekend at Apam in the Central Region of Ghana. A number of Ghanaian actors are expected to be in Apam to support their colleague. Joe, born Joseph Pamfo, is one of Ghana�s interesting actors. He entered Ghana�s movie industry seven years ago when he debuted in the movie �Alomo Gyata�. He has since featured in a number of movies like �Bosomba,� �Konongo Kaya�, �Owuo Safoa,� and �My Love.� On the international scene, he played a role in a movie titled �Baba�s Song�, which was shot in Malawi in 2007 and featured Hollywood actress Franka Potente of �Pirates of the Caribbean� fame. He is a native of Apam in the Central Region and is loved in the region.
