Kotoko And Its Players Fined GH�14,000 For Misconduct

Asante Kotoko F.C. and three of its players have been fined a total of GH�14,000.00 after being found guilty of misconduct charges during their Glo Premier League match against Heart of Lions on October 21, 2012. The Club were fined GH�5,000.00 by the Disciplinary Committee under GFA Regulation 35 (4) for the actions of their supporters who held the match officials hostage on the field for five minutes during recess and an hour in their dressing room after the match at the Baba Yara Stadium. Players, Soulama Abdoulaye, Kwabena Adusei and Ransford Osei were fined GH�3,000.00 each for misconduct under GFA Regulation 35 (1) (a) and (b) for rusging ont he referee after the final whistle thereby inciting supporters to throw objects at the match officials. FINDINGS From the evidence, the Disciplinary Committee finds both Kumasi Asante Kotoko guilty as charged. We also have no doubt that Players Soulama Abdoulaye, Kwabena Adusei and Ransford Osei engaged in misconduct since their actions against some rulings of the match officials encouraged unhealthy demonstrations. DECISION: a) Kumasi Asante Kotoko is fined GH�5,000.00 for the misconduct of its supporters which has the effect of putting the game of football into disrepute. (GFA Regulation 39(7) (a)) b) Players Soulama Abdoulaye, Kwabena Adusei and Ransford Osei are fined GH�3,000.00 each in line with GFA Regulation 39(1) (b).
