Yaw Preko In Line For Ghana U-20 Assist Job

Former Ghana star Yaw Preko is in line to be named the substantive Ghana U20 assistant coach, Ghanasoccernet.com has learnt. Preko will replace Prince Owusu who is expected to be shown the exit over qualification concerns. The appointment of the former Prampram Royals tactician was met with wild criticism after it emerged he lacked the requisite qualification to be handed the job. He does not even boast of a CAF intermediate coaching certificate the minimum requirement needed to qualify for a coaching badge to manage a lower division side. But the Ghana Football Association stood by their decision and allowed him to deputise for Maxwell Konadu as the Black Satellites secured qualification to next years African Cup of Nations. The countrys governing body seems to have bowed to pressure as they are set to announce the former Ghana international as his replacement. Ghana Football Association Technical Committee are believed to have settled on Preko while Maxwell Konadu is being talked into accepting the permanent role. The Caf License B holder was number two to Orlando Wellington and was part of the Black Satellites contingent that played against the Italian U20 in an international friendly last November.
