JE Sarpong Wants Balanced Ghana Squad For Nations Cup

Veteran coach JE Sarpong wants a balance squad for next years African Cup of Nations. Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is just hours away from naming a provisional 25-man squad for the 2013 Nations Cup to be held in South Africa. There are growing uncertainties over the players who would make the final cut after weeks of intense media speculations. The former Ghana captain is now set to officially unveil his men at a press conference on Thursday. But ahead of the naming of the squad, the former Liberty Professionals, Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics coach has urged his compatriots to balance his squad and urged all Ghanaians to embrace it. Kwesi knows his job and will do the right thing. But I am just hoping that he will balance his squad, Sarpong said It will be unfair and pre-mature for me to mention names, but he has worked with the players and knows which of them will help him win the title. I will also urge all of us to embrace the names and support them. "Of course everyone will be supporting one player or the other to be in the team but, let leave that job to him. The 25-man squad will set-up a pre-camping base in the United Arab Emirates where two players will be dropped ahead of the tournament. Ghana are in group B where they will play Mali, DR Congo and Niger in Port Elizabeth.
