GOtv Launches Advanced TV Channel In Ghana

GOtv Ghana Limited, an affiliated company of MultiChoice Ghana, Limited, a multi-channel pay TV platform provider, has launched a new and affordable digital television dubbed �GOtv� using the latest generation Digital Video Broadcast (DVB-T2) standard. GOtv which is the only operator in the country to launch a DVB-T2 pay television service would offer the greatest selection of local channels made in Africa for Africa as well as the best international channels from as low as GH�15.00 per month. Speaking at the launch in Accra, Mr. Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, GOtv Ghana Director said DVB-T2 technology was the most advanced Digital Terrestrial Television technology worldwide. He said the launch puts Ghana at the forefront of deploying the latest digital terrestrial television technology adding that it �was another exciting milestone in our digital roadmap�. GOtv utilises the DVB-T2 technology standard which allows for no less than 21 channels per frequency, which is different from DVB-T1 technology which allows for 12 channels per frequency, making it a dramatic improvement on the dividends of terrestrial frequencies available when DVB-T2 is deployed.
