The Director of Communications of the Ghana Football Association, Sannie Daara has debunked news of a bribery allegation in the senior national team camp at Port Elizabeth in South Africa and labeled the source of the story as unpatriotic. According to Sannie Daara, the report which was carried out by some Ghanaian journalists was just to disrupt the unity and the mission of the Stars in camp ahead of their quarter-final clash against Cape Verde on Saturday. �What I want to tell Ghanaians is there is no truth in the bribery allegation in the Stars camp here in South Africa. The sources of story both GNA and Radio Gold reporters want the down fall of the nation, they are not good citizens,� he stated. �We (Black Stars) are here to bring home the trophy, so if these journalists don�t have any reasonable reportage for the team, they would want to tarnish the image of the country and the team. They are destroyers (Omanbofo),� he said angrily. He said the story was meant to tarnish the image of the Stars when he granted an interview to an Accra based radio station, Asempa FM. However, Sannie Daara was stunned none of the reporters approached him to verify the authenticity of the alleged bribery scandal before publication, but rather journalists would approach him for their monies. �How!, When monies are being distributed to them (journalist) they would come to our hotel , but to confirm a story, you said we (GFA) are not available for comments,� he stressed. GFA is extremely disturbed that at a time that the country is solidly behind the Black Stars to bring the trophy home, a tiny minority of journalists would engage in such nation-wrecking activity.
