John Paintsils In-Laws Storm Accra Over Daughters Assault

John Paintsils In-Laws are storming Accra from Obuasi in the Ashanti region to ascertain reports alleging the Black Stars defender brutally assaulted his wife. Mrs Richlove Paintsil has denied the Footballer stabbed her in the eye with a knife contradicting an earlier confirmation of the alleged assault by DSP Freeman Tettey of the Accra regional Police Commands PR Unit. Mr Paintsil is also alleged to have threatened to shoot a neighbour to whom Mrs Paintsil had run for refuge at their Trassacco Valley Estate. Richlove Paintsil according to DSP Tetteh sustained scathing injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. She was even reported to have gone into coma for a while. The Footballer was arrested by the Airport Police Command in the evening of Friday February 22, 2013 but was later granted bail. While some reports claim the battery came about as a result of Richloves theft of Paintsils 20,000 dollars, other versions claim Paintsil went into a frenzy when the wife confronted her about allegations that he had philandered with prostitutes while in South African for the recently ended Africa Cup of Nations. Paintsils wifes cousin Obeng Dompem told XYZ News on Saturday February 23, 2013 that the ladys Father and almost the entire family were storming Accra to listen to both sides of the story. Paintils in-laws are determined to settle the matter amicably and so may not press charges against the footballer.
