Joseph King Kong Agbeko Assures Ghanaians of Another World Tittle

Ghanaian Bantamweight boxer, Joseph King Kong Agbeko has promise Ghanaians a good world title bout on the 22nd of March 2013. The bout which was supposed to come-off on the 8th of March has been postponed due to technical glitches. Agbeko will go into the fight on the back of a 15-month lay-off after losing a world title to Abner Mares last year. According to Agbeko, his fight with Colombian Luis Melendez in Ghana will be very imperative due to his inability to bring home the title when he fought Abner Mares. This fight is very important to me not because I am fighting a world championship but because I am fighting in front of my home crowd. I disappointed them the last time outside Ghana and it will be very shameful to disappoint Ghanaians in front of them, so this fight means a lot to me. I am going in with all my heart, everything I have in me, with all my strength and with everything to make sure I come out successfully for Ghana, he said. The Fresh King Kong describes his opponent Luis Melendez as a tough boxer but with much experience he will carry the day. Melendez is a very good boxer, he is very experience, and he had a lot of fights, he (Luis Melendez) is very strong. I have watched few of his fights and he is very conditioned. He takes a lot of punishment and you cant stop him and he also keeps punching, so I think he is tough. But I will say no matter how tough he is I will say he is not my class. Its not that I am boasting but I see myself as one of the best fighters in the world, and if Melendez beats me, then I will see myself as not one of the best fighters in the world, so I have to work hard and bring him down, he promised. Joseph King Kong Agbeko ahead of his pending bout has gone in for accomplished coach and Black Bombers trainer Ofori Asare. He however explained to Peace FM his decision to go in for Ofori Asare. There is no problem; nothing has happen between me and my former coach. Ofori Asare is a trainer of the national Black bombers. I have worked with him (Ofori Asare) for a very long time when I was an amateur, we are used to each other. I dont have any problem with Adam Addy (Former coach). We just decide to take a little break and put some few things together but we still have a good relationship and everything is going on well, he said. The former world champion is very optimistic the bout would end with a knockout in his favour since that is his specialty as boxer. The Colombian boxer is expected in the country soon to continue with his preparations whiles there are plans for media work outs and general promotional events ahead of this big bout which is the first world title to be staged in Ghana in twenty five years since Azumah Nelson last fought on home soil in 1988.
