Nicholas Amane Acheampong Made Ambassador

Mr. Nicholas Amane Acheampong, a music star has been named 2nd Ghana- Nigeria Tourism and Culture Showcase( GHANIGTUS) 2013 Event Brand Ambassador at the unveiling of event Logo ceremony to kick start this year�s celebrations. The event which was organized by Tribe Media Company in collaboration with Pan Africa Ghana was launched on Thursday in Accra as a way of strengthening the cultural values and heritage of the two countries. The grand event slated for April 18 � 19 would be on the theme: �One Band, One Stage, One Tribe� is aimed at developing Africa in fostering friendship and unity among members and also give special recognition to individuals and organisations. Ras Caleb Appiah � Levi, President, Pan Africa � Ghana stated that the two � day event would feature a conference of intellectual discussions, presentation of papers, interaction and exhibition of arts, crafts, fashion and a gala awards night to feature top Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes. He said the cultural heritage of Africa could serve as a springboard to launch the economic and industrial development of the continent and also establish business relationship in the sub region. Ras Caleb Appiah � Levi said African culture must be showcased in a highly visible arena such as Arts exhibitions, products, services, investment and trade opportunities as well as incentives in order to create the necessary awareness about the continent. Mr. Bayero Agabi, President, Tribe Media Company indicated that Africa contributes seven per cent of the world�s population that uses the internet and where technology had influenced the culture of the people. He said the impact of the social media is alarming hence the need for the youth to follow the trend by exhibiting their value systems through clothing, arts and music. Mr. Agabi asked the youth to take advantage of the new development strategy in order to have one voice and redesign the tourism industry. Mr. Nicholas Amane Acheampong, Ambassador of GHANIGTUS said he would protect the image of the movement. M. O Agboola, 2nd Secretary to the Nigeria High Commission indicated that the event was worth supporting since it would bring the two countries together as well as make Africa the market place for the international community. Madam Felicxia Ani-Adjei, Special Event Manager, Ghana Tourism Authority, said the purpose of the event was to deepen the bond of unity between Ghana and Nigeria. The Ghana Nigeria Tourism and Culture Showcase is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and the Nigerian High Commission.
