Abeiku Santana: "I Want To Be A Deputy Minister"

Ace radio presenter and all-round entertainer Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, popularly known as Abeiku Santana of Ekwanso Dwodwo on Okay 101.7 FM, has explained why he has ventured into politics. Abeiku is one of the several showbiz personalities including Selassie Ibrahim, John Dumelo, Nat Brew, Rex Omar, Vicky Zugah, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Kalsoume Sinare, Emmanuela Armah, Roger Quartey, and Vivian Achor, who endorsed the candidature of President John Mahama prior to December 2012 election. Talking a little bit about politics, he stated that he hasn't regretted campaigning for President John Mahama, and he will never ever regret because John Mahama is currently the finest and the best President we have ever had and through his government, Ghana will soon have the biggest economy after South Africa. As to whether he will quit radio in future for politics, he whispered that radio is bigger than politics, and that he will not quit radio for politics but will rather prefer to do both. He also added that If I get the opportunity to be a deputy Minister I can deliver. Sometimes I dont cherish the way some politicians do their politics in Ghana. It is just simple except that most of our politicians are not sensible enough to make things work. Instead of them setting up lots of businesses in their constituencies so they leave a great legacy and invest their money in the people, they decide not to do that and it beats my mind. In fact, I want to be a deputy minister and that will be when people will see how politics is being done in this country he said. Abeiku Santana, the finest drive time presenter on Okay 101.7fm who is planning and thinking to contest as a member of Parliament in the Mfansteman constituency someday, said when given the nod, he will ask the state not to pay him even as MP but will still deliver and be very relevant in the society.
